ASSALAMU ALAYKUM, I’M GEHAD.
As a young Muslim woman at 14 years, I had already lost my voice, identity, and any interest in life.
Growing up, my childhood was overshadowed by strict family rules. Clothed in black from head to toe except for my eyes, I was called names – Batman being one of them. Decisions were made for me, often leaving me feeling powerless and disconnected from who I truly was. When I tried to assert my beliefs, to dress for God rather than for the strictures imposed upon me, I was silenced and coerced into submission.
My turning point came during a stay in the Middle East, where I was encouraged to enroll in a Dawah course. There, I was introduced to the Prophetic Model of personality traits. This model, rooted in the nurturing guidance of Prophet Muhammad pbuh, showed me a beautiful Islam that once upon a time was made so ugly to me that I wanted to let go of it. The teachings of the most beautiful human was a stark contrast to what I had grown up knowing –
he nurtured, not suppressed personalities;
he taught with love, not hate,
he helped, not oppressed,
he honoured, not insulted,
he raised, not damaged individuals and an Ummah!
This realisation was transformative and what I had been missing. For the first time, I understood my strengths and began to reclaim my suppressed identity. I embraced the teachings that resonated with true Islamic values of compassion and personal empowerment. Inspired by this journey, I became determined to help others find their path, to discover their strengths, and to experience the liberation and sense of purpose that comes with true self-acceptance.
Now, as a certified counselor and coach, I dedicate myself to those seeking to find their voice and their place. My mission is to empower, especially women, to realize their potential and influence within the community. It is essential for us to rise together, embracing our strengths and using them to uplift ourselves and our Ummah.

Gehad did an analysis for my son. It was eye opening for me and helped me to see things from his point of view. Helped me to understand how some of the things I viewed as negativities were just how he processes. She was engaging and thorough, the information she provided helped me to understand certain things better. Because the analysis comes from an Islamic point of view it made it easier for me to accept and understand.
